| | Liability and the Law It’s not always legal to modify certain parts of your car. For instance, federal law says you can’t remove or replace your catalytic converter if it is in working order. Also, some of the parts we sell are not legal for street use in some states, like California. Items that have a CARB (California Air Research Board) exemption number are legal for street use in all fifty states. Some parts are only legal for track use, and are not legal for street use in any state.
Please keep in mind that modifying your car CAN BE DANGEROUS. You can hurt yourself working on your car. If a car falls on you, you can die -- always use proper equipment and safety procedures. Example: That means jack stands, not cinder blocks. Wear safety goggles and gloves when working on your car. Use good quality tools, and a healthy dose of common sense.
If your self-installed part falls off, it can hurt you or others. There are parts of your car that are critical to safety -- the fuel system and brakes, just to name a couple. If you do not feel fully qualified to work on these parts, please take the car to a professional mechanic.
Please drive safely. Obey all traffic laws. Test the limits of your car only on a race track or drag strip, not on the street. Drive safely and responsibly to protect yourself and others. Any kind of driving is risky, but track driving or any sort of motorsports is especially dangerous, and there is the distinct possibility of injury or death.
What we are saying here is, do all these things at your own risk! We are not your parents. We think you are responsible adults, and that you understand and accept the risks involved with driving a car, modifying a car, and driving a modified car. If you get hurt, we do not claim any responsibility.
