A traditional battery uses practically ancient technology, in the form of thick lead plates bathed in acid. The Optima battery features sprial-wound thin lead sheets, surrounded by an absorbant mat that holds the electrolytic solution in place. That means more power, and increased energy, for quick, reliable starting.
Optima last twice as long as normal batteries, can stand sitting unused for up to three times as long, and is 15 times more resistant to vibration. It will never spill and can be mounted in almost any position.
This "reverse terminal" battery fits all 2002-07 Imprezas, including WRX and STi.
