Turn In Concepts Rear Trailing Arm Bushing Kit (02-07 Impreza/WRX/STI)
Swap out this squishy, loose, worn-out rubber bushings on the back end of the trailing arm on your GD Impreza (that's 2002-07 Impreza, WRX, and STI) with Turn In Concepts' custom polyurethane bushings. This kit firms up the rear end, leads to more precision during driving, reduces dynamic reflection, and removes an undamped spring from your suspension (the old one is a really bouncy rubber).
Did we say polyurethane? It's not just any kind, it's Shore 95A medical-grade stuff! Graphite-impregnated, too, for self-lubricating qualities!
The included sleeves are custom-made from stainless steel, and are beveled on the ends for easy installation.
How to install:
- Unbolt trailing arm from rear knuckle and pull arm down out of the way.
- Remove stock bushing (heat works nicely for this, but watch where your flames go)
- Clean up left over bits of the stock bushing in the bore.
- Insert new bushing halves
- Insert crush tube (C-clamp works well for this)
- Align bolt hole
- Insert bolt
- Torque to 66 lbs
Some additional tips:
The bushings are self lubricating. Despite this it's not going to hurt anything to use a little bit a lube when you assemble, BUT please use a water based lube. Petroleum lube will decay urethane (and rubber too).
Before you completely tighten the bolt put the car down so it's sitting an normal suspension load. This will eliminate any preload in the bushing.
