If you have worked with the Subaru EJ engine for a while, you probably know that cylinder 4 has a greater propensity to damage itself than the other cylinders. There are a number of possible reasons for this, but one possible cause is that it is the last to be served by the flowing coolant inside the engine.
The GetaDomTune (GDT) Subaru EJ cylinder 4 combustion chamber cooling kit (otherwise known as the Cylinder 4 Cooling Mod) increases coolant flow to the left-hand cylinder head, and in particular to cylinder 4. The manufacturer claims that altering the coolant's flow in this manner improves reliability by reducing hot spots that can lead to detonation.
Each kit includes an assembled hose kit that features a high-grade pre-formed hose and custom machined 6061 anodized fitting. The kit also includes a custom stainless steel "T" fitting and pinch clamps.
