We've found over the years that sometimes the Subaru coil packs just fail. We've seen them physically melted in some instances. This is a factory replacement Subaru OEM ignition coil.

Terminology note: Technically speaking, this is a single ignition coil, and a "coil pack" would be a bundled set of two or more ignition coils, which is not how they are implemented on modern Subarus. That said, colloquially these individual ignition coils have come to be known as coil packs, and most of our customers search for them using that terminology. So that's how we list them here, but they are single ignition coils. If you need a full set of four, purchase four.
