The factory e-brake button uses a spring-loaded mechanism that locks the lever up mid-pull, which is the last thing you want when you're trying to maintain a slide. The Overtake Subaru e-brake drift button replaces your OEM button with a billet aluminum piece, letting you pull and hold the e-brake lever without fighting the spring or worrying about it locking at the wrong moment. Run it with the spring removed for full drift functionality, or keep the spring in for a cleaner interior look with no change to normal parking brake use.
Your factory e-brake button is spring-loaded by design, so the lever pops back to its resting position and locks automatically when you pull it. That works fine for parking, but when you're mid-drift and need to modulate the rear brakes repeatedly, that spring is actively working against you. Remove it, thread in the Overtake e-brake drift button, and now the button stays pressed when you pull the lever, keeping the rear brakes engaged as long as you're pulling. Release the lever and everything returns to rest. The O-ring seats between the button and the lever housing to kill any vibration or rattle that cheaper buttons develop over time. If you want the factory spring and parking brake function back, the button works either way. Takes about 2 minutes to install with basic tools and no permanent modifications to your car.
Fits most 2005+ Subarus equipped with a manual parking brake, including all 2005+ WRX and WRX STI. Does not fit pre-2005 cars.
